Altered World

Introducing......

Her name is Storm, but in the walled town of Aureole, everyone knows her as TROUBLE!. . .
Storm is a young girl who wants nothing more than to live a reclusive life until she can free herself from the walls, no, the cage, all who have forsaken her have trapped her in, which, hopefully, will be sooner rather than later. Only there’s one problem: Everywhere she goes there seems to be nothing but hapless trouble waiting for her, and let’s not forget her uncanny tendency to make it double.

But this time, she will do it right. She will stay out of trouble. She will not be stupid or pessimistic. She will get out of Aureole, or, so help her, she will die trying.

However, things might not go as planned when, Brick, the evil head of the Crowne, asks for her personally. Not only that, but there are a lot strange new visitors in Aureole, not all them bringing good intentions. Among them are two brothers whose friendship might quite literally kill her. And in the woods that she has dubbed her home, something is very wrong.

Pandemonium reigns in the young life of Storm, and, given a choice, it might just get worse. How can she choose between deficient and dreadful; inferior or unpleasant. How can she decide if a home, whatever it might possibly be, is worth all the suffering it seems to entail. How can she know if trust will lead to bliss or more agony.

Join Storm on this thrilling tale of survival, perseverance, and utter infamy as she rediscovers who she is and what life is really worth. And be ready for the penultimate decision, leading to the shocking finale.

But be weary. If your running with Storm, you’re looking for TROUBLE.

Looking for Trouble?

Hair like smoke?

Eyes that cut like steel?

Chaos embodied?

Stay away from her! She is Death!

STORM, an unorthodox orphan from a backwater town, has always been regarded as one thing, and one thing only: TROUBLE!

Storm wants nothing more than to free herself from the walls she’s trapped in and find a place she can truly call “home.” However, when push comes to shove, she must decide if solitude is a good price for her freedom, and if a “home,” whatever it may be, is worth suffering for.

Coming to Paperback and Hardback is
the second half of
Altered World: A Girl Named Trouble:
Brick & Bones

Be wary of her.

She harbors misfortune?

No, carries it. In her hair, her eyes.

Yeah?

… Yeah… As long as you never wrong her.

TROUBLE, the ever infamous moniker of Storm, is no longer in Aureole.

However, she isn’t “home” either.

Rather, the unfortunate orphan is now prisoner to Brick, in his city of gold, Corona, locked away in the highest room of Brick’s extravagant castle. And freedom has only two outlets: One, through holy matrimony to Brick’s only son, or two, crushed under Brick’s mighty fist.

Furthermore, strange things are happening to Storm.

But… where there’s a will, there’s trouble, and, with Trouble, always another bang.

Join Storm on this heart-racing tale against time, and go the distance. And prepare yourself for the epic ending that leads to the utmost staggering conclusion. But be warned. If you’re running with Storm, you’re looking for TROUBLE.

  1. I love where this book takes me and I can definitely relate to the character because I have been called trouble since the day I was born. Like storm, I believe her mishaps and the syndicate hierarchy needs to be challenged . I also believe that rules were made to be broken for the greater good. I would recommend this book to teenagers who are coming into or trying to find themselves to adulthood. Of course I would give this book a 5*****star rating.

  2. I didn't finish it. (I've never been able to finish books that weren't comics) but I did get as far as I ever have with a book. If this was a manga it'd be great, and I mean that, and i'd read the whole thing, but I just read it until after Storm got chased by those spyders so I can't really rate it. But if I could I'd give it four stars because it was very long, the other stars because I read it as far as I did and I don't read books.
